About Us

The product concept, exploited under license by SALT Ltd, was conceived by leading experts in materials and underwater warfare working in the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Science and Technology Laboratories (Dstl).

The project which delivered SonarBell® from inception to sea-bed prototype and thence to Start-up Company was managed by Ploughshare Innovations Ltd, Dstl’s technology transfer company.

SALT was formed in February 2008 and has subsequently completed a number of funding rounds drawing funding from a variety of public and private sources.
