Chairman of the Board
Donald Rushton
Donald Rushton joined SALT Ltd in 2009.
He graduated from Oxford University in 1970. He has a background in merchant banking and insurance.
Chief Executive Officer
Carl Tiltman
Carl started his career with the MoD in 1982, and was promoted to principal scientist. He is an expert in naval underwater systems and technologies including underwater off-board sensor systems, acoustic communications, unmanned vehicles and seabed survey.
In 2008 he took up the position of Chief Technology Officer with the then newly formed SALT Ltd. Carl became CEO in January 2012.

Nigel Hill
Nigel Hill is the owner and Managing Director of Clearwater Marine Investments Limited, a private investment company which he established in 2002.
Clearwater specialises in marine investment including shared ownership of a number of ocean-going cargo vessels and of The Wallem Group Limited which, based in Hong Kong, is one of the largest shipping services groups in the world. Nigel acts as Chairman of Wallem.
Nigel is an experienced, merchant bank-trained shipping financier and investor with nearly thirty years’ service in the industry.

Chris Dennison
Chris Dennison has 15 year experience of working at board level in global companies to support major strategic and business model changes. This has included strategic developments in all areas of the oil, gas and petrochemical industry in different cultural environments.
Clients have included BP, Shell, BG, Weatherford, Amec and Bristow Helicopters. He is a pharmacologist by background and was a founding partner of Bywater the strategy consultancy which in 2003 merged with Axon (a UK listed management consultancy with operations in Europe, USA, Middle East and Far East). Chris is a director of Axon
Chris holds a number of non executive directorships and lectures on the Oxford Pepperdine MBA.

Dr. Andrew Tulloch
Dr Tulloch has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Physics, a PGCE, an MSc in Nuclear Reactor Design, a PhD in Paleo-magnetism and an MBA from London Business School (LBS).
Following an early academic career, he joined the Royal Navy. He left to take up a career in the IT industry. Career planning led to his place on the Executive MBA at LBS during which he developed a passion for entrepreneurship.
In April 2005 Andy became CEO of Dstl’s Technology Transfer Company: Ploughshare Innovations where he was responsible for the transfer of technology from Dstl and other defence sources to the private sector via licensing and new company start-up. Following 4+ years at PIL he joined SALT Ltd in September 2009 as CEO, Andy then became a non executive director to SALT in April 2012.

Pete Hotten
Currently CEO of Ploughshare Innovations and with 20 years board level experience in creating and running technology based SME companies, Pete has made a career around the commercialisation of intellectual property.
Pete’s experience is diverse spanning businesses from landscape gardening, animal feeds, nutraceuticals, animal tracking, artificial silk, neural networks, and genomics. Peter brings a mix of technology development skills together with knowledge of how to create robust business models to SALT.
